So I am think of getting a Crown Vic for a first car, but was wondering what mods are best for the car, as well as how much they cost. I am talking about ANY kind of modifications, whether they're visual, performance-oriented, practicality-oriented, or other.
I'm open to any suggestions, and if any Panther owners could chime in as well, that'd be great.

A K&N CAI as well for the sound.
Police grill if you don't have one.
LSD if it doesn't have one.
Same with aluminum drive shaft.
Maybe a shift kit.

I would assume a set of 3:73 rear end gears would do wonders for it.

2 of these and you are good to go.
I had these on my P71 and they sounded fantastic. Because the crown vic has 4 cats it did not sound like crap.
Now in my mind a crown vic is not a crown vic without a set of these.
other than that the car is pretty stout as it is. maybe tint the windows and a sweet set of wheels and you are good to go.

So I'm guessing you don't want a Toys R Us wrap either, then?

Does anyone make a X pipe for Panther cars? I had a Bassani catless X on my 95 Cobra and it sounded glorious.

if this is your first car: replace the brakes. get the nicest tires you can afford. if there are any speakers...replace the head unit, see if it sounds any better. if you have steel wheels, paint them your favorite color. also: try to find a retrofit HID projector that isn't blasting light all over the place, aka: "get lights with a cut line." get tint that matches front and back windows to the legal limit. mis-matched after market tint with a stark difference looks tacky.
on the far end of things, i'd replace the suspension with something more suiting to your driving style...or go hellaflush or whatever. i don't think they do that with crown vics though.

Shorty Headers for a late 01-04 Mustang GT
Header downpipes
Steeda UDPs
Alloys (the stock P71 Steelies weigh a metric fuckton)
ECU reflash
Fog lights
MGM interior bits
I'm sure that I'm forgetting things...

Seriously though... If you care about handling and performance, start with getting the best P71 (ex cop) crown vic you can find as a starting point. It's cheaper to get a car with the cop-related stuff than buying it and adding it on afterwards.
The down side with a P71 is the interiors aren't as nice. So I suggest you get used Lincoln Town car interior parts to spruce up the inside.
If you don't care about handling/performance and want luxury and a smooth ride, then get a Lincoln Town car. But understand that servicing the air suspension will be more expensive than the regular coil spring suspension.

Depends how far you want to go with mods and your budget. Crown Vics aren't exactly cheap to mod because the market isn't that big. Pretty much anything mechanical that will bolt onto a 2v 4.6 Mustang GT will bolt onto a Crown Vic.

If money is no object, 32 valve Mercury Marauder swap. But if money is no object, start with a Mercury Marauder.
